If you'd like to become a part of the Dolphin Channel the first place to start is by enrolling in COM 217 Basic Broadcast Journalism.  Here you'll learn how to produce and report utilizing Jacksonville University's digital editing system.  The course is offered every semester, and fills very quickly.

After that, you'll learn advanced techniques in COM 317 and ultimately produce your own long format news program, tackling a serious issue facing the Jacksonville community in COM 417.

You'll also spend one semester focusing on the craft and art of writing broadcast news.  In COM 333W you'll learn how to write for your audience and serve as a contemporary story teller in today's information age.  This writing intensive course is offered once a year, usually in the spring semester.

If you'd like to join in the excitement that is broadcast journalism and be featured on The Dolphin Channel, Jacksonville University and the Communications department can help you make your dreams come true.  New faces are welcomed here!
