A former award winning television journalist, Dr. Annmarie Kent-Willette has successfully crafted the Dolphin Channel News into a celebrated student television program. Student productions under the guidance of Dr. Kent-Willette have received top honors from the Florida Associated Press in both the student and professional categories. Her students have been selected for scholarship awards from the Florida Broadcasters Association. Former staff members are now working in the broadcast field throughout the country. In addition to The Dolphin Channel News, Dr. Kent-Willette offers broadcast journalism courses abroad, providing her students with a unique and powerful understanding of the American media.

Arriving in Florida as an undergraduate seeking to escape the winter weather, Dr. Kent-Willette has called the Sunshine State home every since. She completed her BA and MA in Communications at the University of South Florida in Tampa and her doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Kent-Willette and her family enjoy living in sunny Florida.

In 2008, Dr. Kent-Willette was selected as Jacksonville University’s faculty woman of the year. She has also been honored for faculty excellence for her dedication and committment to community service.
